PLA (Poly-Lactic Acid)
PLA is a material that derives from the transformation of sugars present in corn, beets, sugar cane and other natural and renewable substances that have nothing to do with oil. PLA is a compostable bioplastic and biodegradable, which then decomposes in the soil once the conditions of necessary temperature and humidity are reached. The main feature is compostability, that is the rapid degradation (about a few months in a composting centre) that transforms bioplastic into soil. PLA is transparent, glossy, rigid and is the first polymer to have impact 0 in respect to CO2 emissions.
